Honestly, I think you just met jerks who were being disrespectful and trying to see how far they can get with you. I have met a lot of men who aren’t like this but I have also met ones who are. And all from various backgrounds. The whole “why did you return my messages if you aren’t interested?” is really a terrible way to think that someone likes you. Especially when you never shown/said anything to reciprocate it. Like you said, you thought he was a good friend.

“Foreign guys” come from all different countries, with different cultures. It is oversimplification to just speak about “foreign guy” or “foreigners”. Korean, Taiwanese or Chinese guys are also foreign guys in Japan and they would NOT be as direct and people coming from other countries. The difference in case of directness is not Japanese vs. foreigners but it is more like the difference between so called “low context” and “high context” societies. Even amongst western looking people there can be huge differences. It would be a minimal expectation that people realize this, I think. Western people also mostly realize hopefully that we cannot make generalizations for Asian people. Japanese, Indian, Vietnamese, Pakistani, Philippino, Korean and Chinese are not the same. In the same manner there are great differences between Russian, Italian, German, American, Israeli and Dutch people…

May somebody explain how 入って is used at 1:55? I'm assuming it wouldn't exactly translate to "go in" in this context. Does it have to be there because of the 中に? I keep seeing this word but im not sure when to use it T^T

When I was young, I used to love a japanese woman. I really thought they were the most beautiful things on God's green earth. I told myself I would eventually learn japanese language, move to japan, and marry myself a japanese woman. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Bro, on God, I have no idea what I was smoking. I went to Japan when I was in the Marine Corps. I really didn't get to enjoy it the way I wanted to because it was just a quick three days in tokyo, and that's it. I went back two weeks ago. Bro, I must tell you I would tell my younger self. What the hell were you thinking, bro. Really, what the hell where you thinking 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

#4 We do and we don't here in the USA, though it's usually a little more subtle; funny that Japanese people are not direct, as you said, but in this instance they are more direct than foreigners lol. It really depends on who you are dating. Most of my relationships we eventually say something like "do you mind if I call you my girlfriend?" Also, there is usually a period of dating where you don't use the word "love", and so the first time you tell someone you love them, that is when your relationship is considered committed.

#3 may not be as cultural as you think. Men here in the USA just can't take a hint. Women here do the same thing to show they are not interested and men get mad all the same. That's not your fault, or a cultural difference, he's just a jerk.
